Sorry about the lateness of software Saturday and other posts
If you subscribe to many blogs or feeds for podcasts then ,if like me, you haven’t moved away from Safari for ages and have all your bookmarks and feeds saved on that you may want to reconsider using it as your main feed reader now NetNewsWire has gone free.
NetNewsWire is probably in my opinion the best RSS reader out there. If you have been using Safari then you will probably find it a hassle to have to load every feed individually and making all those clicks if you put them in a folder to load each feed can be a pain.
In NetNewsWire you can control the whole thing pretty much by just using your up and down arrows. You can divide your feeds into different folders and open them up when highlighted using [cmd + →] and closing them up is just as easy just hit [cmd + ←]. When you have the folder open you can also navigate which feed you want to read by pressing ↑ or ↓ and then when you have the feed you want highlighted you can just hit → to read that feed and then once again ↑ or ↓ to navigate the stories. Then once you are done you can hit ← to go back and read other feeds or you can hit → to go to that page.
You can also view all your feeds as one or you can use them also in folders. I have for example a “Technology” folder and an “Apple” folder. Besides being easier to navigate you can also create your own feeds from sites like del.icio.us or Flickr. Just go to File > My Special Subscription > Tag.. and then type in your chosen tag and also choose your site. Then you will get that as a feed in NetNewsWire which will display everything tagged with your chosen keyword.

I love NetNewsWire it is very powerful and I haven’t even scratched the surface of what you can do with it I just have noted the best and main features. It is now free and can be downloaded over at Newsgator.com.
My Rating for NetNewsWire:

Now a little bit of admin stuff. Soon we will be doing a video version of Software Saturday and I was wanting to know would you guys want to have it in a separate feed or would you want it in a mixed feed with the BUMP audio or both? Just thought I would ask you guys. Thanks.
