As some of you have noticed I (Chris) haven’t been on the podcast or blog as much lately. I just wanted to let you guys all know that I am still here and I will be on the shows more regularly and also be blogging a lot more in the time to come.
The reason for my absence has mainly been due to some small exams and they are not over yet. I have completed one GCSE this Friday just gone (hopefully got an A according to teacher) a year early and I still have some to come towards the end of April.
I have been working hard on these and they have taken up a lot of my time but rest assured I will be back blogging again and on the podcast hopefully this week. Thanks for everyone who has wanted to hear me again it means a lot and I will speak to you sometime soon.

Apple today amongst other releases let out of the Cupertino Campus iPhone and iPod Touch firmware 1.1.4.
What does it do?
Nothing.
No really nothing.
It improves stability as everyone already knows with the Apple notes and thats basically all it says. Maybe something to do with 3rd party applications is included but not documented. Engadget say that the jailbroken phones will update without problems everything still intact but be careful and if you have any complaints complain to them not me
It is a hefty update clocking in at around 160 megs it is almost as big as a OS 10 upgrade.
If you have one of the touchscreen Apple devices then update it and enjoy the nothing.

iPods now are becoming an extension of peoples beings. I feel it is becoming like the hoover. Instead of saying “Vacuum cleaning” people say “Hoovering” and now I can see it becoming not MP3 player but iPod. iPod has a status of its own. I could go on a post about how iPods are so big now they are creating a monopoly (gives me an idea) but this post is about breaking your iPod virginity and finding you the right iPod.
This is a really good mock up of how the iPhone copy and paste could and should work. If they choose to implement it in this way I would be a happy man.
If any of the iPhone developers are reading this then take a good look. I find this video could educate you and make you see your mistakes. People complained about Leopard’s Menu Bar and you changed that. If we whine enough about the copy and paste will you? I realise I’m talking to no-one here but I am doing my little bit to help.
Funny great video.

A while ago in the UK the Mitchell and Webb versions of the hit US Mac and PC adverts were pulled offline. During a bored 3am time last night I found my self perusing through the great servers of YouTube and came across all the ads and I just wanted to know your opinion on them.
If you have a MacBook or MacBook Pro you are probably sick and tired of hitting that software update but you should again once more as Apple has released a keyboard patch that helps when a key is pressed for the first time after the mac has been idle and hasn’t done anything. It probably also “Improves stability and compatibility” in some way shape or form. All the updates do these days.

The forgotton iPod the baby of the lot has grown bigger. He know is sporting a 2GB chip inside his little shell as opposed to the 1GB as before. There is also a 1GB version still available at a cheaper price of £32.00 but there is now (well soon) the 2GB version at £45.00! That’s cheaper than it was to start with!
Jolly Good!

If you have not bought an iPhone to me it is now looking mighty sexy to anyone who is on the fence here in the UK. O2 have just added some bolt-on packages for the iPhone now to try and entice customers into buying the device. Recently they changed the price plans and now they have added bolt ons.
Basically a bolt on is something you can add to your contract to give you more texts or minutes and O2 have a great selection that are as follows:
If you have bought your iPhone over here in the UK then you will probably have been scared of the iPhone having a price cut and you might have been scared if you have bought one before now by the title of this post but FEAR NOT!
If you have previously bought your iPhone then you will get this deal. Basically O2 have changed the price plans for the iPhone to try and bring in more customers. They have kept the general same price points but you now get more bang for your buck. Or to be more precise:
If you already have the iPhone then O2 don’t panic O2 are going to be rolling it out for everyone with a contract by mid-march at the latest. Look out for a text on the 7th of February. You won’t need to do anything they will change it all for you.
If you have been putting off the iPhone because you don’t get enough bang for your buck then maybe this will swing you?

Sorry about the lateness of software Saturday and other posts
If you subscribe to many blogs or feeds for podcasts then ,if like me, you haven’t moved away from Safari for ages and have all your bookmarks and feeds saved on that you may want to reconsider using it as your main feed reader now NetNewsWire has gone free.
NetNewsWire is probably in my opinion the best RSS reader out there. If you have been using Safari then you will probably find it a hassle to have to load every feed individually and making all those clicks if you put them in a folder to load each feed can be a pain.
