A while ago in the UK the Mitchell and Webb versions of the hit US Mac and PC adverts were pulled offline. During a bored 3am time last night I found my self perusing through the great servers of YouTube and came across all the ads and I just wanted to know your opinion on them.
In the days of yore back before this small little blog was spawned there was no such thing as TV shows in the UK according to iTunes. Although we had this device they called the iPod, which would play video, there was only really one legal way of watching video and that was video podcasts. iTunes was just a small lump of a application learning its ways. Then we saw iTunes turn into a bouncing baby application when it signed up some of the shows such as “That’s So Raven” and “Hannah Montana”.
Now our little baby is turning into a boy. With Warner Bros signed up we are getting hits like:
- Bablyon 5
- Wonder Woman
- The Jetsons
- The Flinstones
- Friends!
and of course it wouldn’t complete without possibly the greatest show ever
Also joining WB are “Aardman Studios” they are the genius boffins behind the great Plasticine duo “Wallace and Grommit.”
Now we are seeing our iTunes grow up. I don’t think we can call him a man yet as he still hasn’t got his first movie but he will probably panic and give us Matrix 2 as the first one.
Someone at Apple has really started to listen to us here in the UK and with Steve saying at Macworld this year he was determined to get at least Movie Rentals to the UK.
Me and Stu both jumped at the chance to watch these new videos and Stu and I both feel they have great quality. Stu bought Bablyon 5 and I plumped for the Friends episode titled “The One With The Baby On The Bus” which is highly recommended by yours truly. We only have seasons 1-3 of Friends and it looks the same across the board but as time goes on so will more and more content come into iTunes.
I could have a massive rant about how we are not being treated fair but I won’t. What I will mention is the price per season! WOW! That is a lot! Sort it out Apple.
For now though lets celebrate with our model made friends, our iTunes’ first tooth and first words.

That’s impressive it must have took a lot of effort to do. A fellow geek decided to put in that bit of extra elbow grease and propose with originality. Must have took a lot of planning and its thought out very well. Just in case your wondering…..she said “yes” as I’m sure we all would. Very original congradulations.
A vast number of the European Apple stores are down right now and although it is probably routine maintenance we still have the possibility that it could be something nice and shiny and new.
Here at BUMP we will keep you informed!

For those of you lucky, lucky people at MacLive on Friday the 26th you may have been planning to leave the Expo as quick as you can and getting to the nearest Apple store and queueing up to get Leopard. As you can see there might be a problem there as about 50% of the Apple geeks in the country will be doing the same thing.
Fortunately Apple have thought about this and have come up with a great solution. MacLive has decided to leave its doors open and you will be able to purchase your copy of Leopard:
How often do you use your dashboard?
I use mine relatively frequently and i try to only put things of use on it, some people though don’t use their dashboard at all and I think it is strange as the dashboard can be very useful for when you quickly want to do that calculation or translate that word.
First person to have an iPhone is Steve Jobs, then the board of directors, then the journalists, then the American public, then a baby yes and now finally we have a dog using the iPhone!
Well it was bound to happen sometime sooner or later!
Hi folks, I was looking at the halifax.co.uk page today, and they have put a great new security centre online recently, look what image they’ve used to illustrate online security! Continue reading »
Have you ever wondered what we are listening to?
Probably not but if you have then you can use something like last.fm to follow us if we have an account. Last FM is awesome and Apple have jumped on a similar band wagon with a thing they call My iTunes Widgets. They aren’t like normal widgets you don’t download them and stick them on your dashboard you stick them on a webpage. They basically are little pieces of HTML code that stick into your web page like normal HTML does. You sign into your iTunes account info in iTunes then you choose enable iTunes widgets.
We sometimes feel like second class citizens by Apple sometimes. They are making steps in the right direction. We got TV shows on iTunes and until the 30th (so hurry) if you text the words “ROCK”,”POP”,”LIVE,” or “ITUNES” to 85100, Apple will do you the kind gesture of sending you a code to redeem a free song.
It only works in the UK and it is proven to work but if you like to text then go for it and enjoy your free iTunes song!
