Hi everyone, hope you’re all well, I thought I’d take a few minutes to give you an update on how things are going, and what you can expect this next few months.
First up, I’d like to thank the team particularly Chris and Daniel, they’ve both been fantastic and it’s great to have Daniel with us on BUMP, I’m sure you’ll agree he’s a great addition to our already fine team! We’ve actually promoted him too, he’s now on the production team as well as a blogger, I gotta say editing video and audio together is a lot of fun.
Update : OK after looking at the podcasting episode we did on Sunday, the audio quality was poor because of TalkShoe, so I’m releasing a news show as BUMP 028, and we’ll redo our podcasting special this weekend with Daniel
Coming up in the next few months we have some great guests planned, more details to come soon and also a huge range of special episodes such ad ‘DJing with your Mac’ and ‘Mac vs Linux - The Live Debate’.
We hope you’re enjoying what we’re doing with the show, if you aren’t then please let us know by emailing us using the contact page!
Thanks for your time
Stu

After many months of rumours about the BBC coming to the iTunes Store here in the UK, Torchwood is now available (along with a few other shows, but being the Doctor Who geek I am, what else do you think I’m going to mention first) on the iTunes store, well at least the first few episodes of Season 2 are. So my mum is very happy, she’s got a bit of a crush on John ‘Captain Jack’ Barrowman, despite the fact he’s gay! Continue reading »

OK, so sorry for the terrible photography pun there folks, but I’m in a good mood today and therefore you lovely readers get all my most cheesy puns!
So, Apple have a little ‘pro’ photography app called Aperture and they’ve just updated this to version 2.0, which from reading various blogs and hearing photographers on various podcasts, is about time.

Ever wondered what powers the audio and video production for The Grammys, one of the biggest music awards ceremonies around?
Is it Windows? Nope, it’s not a crash and burn show!
Is Linux arriving in a Limo? No show!
Yes, you guessed it, it’s all Mac based, as a very interesting article over at MacWorld UK points out.
As an avid video and audio geek I’d love to get a look at the rig and play with some of the gear!

Hello everyone, hope you’re all well today, I’d like to welcome you to a new section of the blog, something I’ve been toying with for a long time now; Hardware Heaven & Hell. Chris has his wonderful Software Saturday and I didn’t want to step on his toes with any software reviews, so I decided I’d do some hardware reviews, particularly things that I’ve had personal experience with, be it good or bad!
So first up is my latest ‘toy’, the Alesis Multimix 12 Firewire mixer / audio interface.

As most of you know up until the latest update I’ve had a jailbroken iPhone, and as such I didn’t really pay any attention to the many web apps out there, which I’m starting to regret but now I can put these apps as shortcuts onto my iPhone home screen (of which you can now have 9!)
While I was encoding tonight’s show I spent some time playing with the web-clips feature of the new iPhone software, I started with two apps I have used before; Facebook and Meebo but I came across some real gems in the web apps directory, one in particular UKTrains from www.themacbox.co.uk/iphone caught my attention and I want to tell you all a bit more about it as well as some other great web apps I now use as web clips

Could the 2nd largest financial district in the UK about be to get a ‘proper’ Apple Store, well if you take a look at this artists impression of the redevelopment plans for the ‘Headrow Centre’ in the city centre you’d certainly be led to believe so.

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well, bit of housekeeping first of all - BUMP 012, our iPhone UK special is being edited as I write this, should be out by Thursday at the latest, sorry for the delays to most of our releases lately, we’re working on some new structural stuff with the edits. I’m going to officially say that from now on our shows we record on Fridays will be out by Wednesday of the next week, gives us all time to test it and for our beta listeners to give us feedback.
Right, onto the issue at hand - I bought my iPhone from Carphone Warehouse (CPW) on Saturday 10th November, you’ll hear my thoughts on their service on the show, and bought their insurance product after a rather long sales pitch from their people. I had my doubts about some of the things they were saying, but with a 14-day cooling off period I thought I’d take it out and then cancel if these came out to be justified doubts, well I have to report to you all today - they are indeed justified!

Hi folks, well my first words have honestly got to be wow! I received Leopard yesterday at around 2pm, in it’s very nice packaging, I’ll add some photos to this post when I get back on the Macbook Pro. I of course proceeded to install it on my iMac (which, as you’ll all have read / heard, is now acting as our family computer.

It is official, the next incarnation of Mac OS X, 10.5 Leopard, will be launched and available for purchase on 26th October, as ourselves and pretty much every other Mac podcaster predicted! A special thanks goes out to ‘Gazmaz’ for dropping us an e-mail alerting us to the great news!
Apple’s store has been updated with details including pricing, £85 for the single user and £129 for the family pack (hmm, can anyone say ‘Take that Vista!’)
