I was a PC user most of my computing life, ocassionally I came across the Mac, and I’ll be honest at first I wasn’t impressed, but that has certainly changed now!

My Apple journey started in mid April 2006, I bought a 30gb iPod Video, I loved iTunes instantly and the iPod itself was so easy to use! It was around this time I started to get more into video production, and using my desktop Windows PC was at times painful, it was a good spec, but it still kept crashing.

The system was constantly in for repair and then finally in late October 2006 it died, they wrote it off and I got £1000 in vouchers to replace it, well guess what cost just under £1000, the 20″ Core 2 Duo iMac, so I went for it, was just amazed by how easy it was to use not to mention powerful.

After only 9 months I decided to ditch my Windows laptop and buy a 15″ MacBook Pro, and have finally managed to ditch a Windows machine for my multimedia work at Church now as well, we used to use the fantastic MediaShout v3.5 software, but having a Mac means I can do full screen ’second display’ video without dragging a media player across and with Keynote 08 and OpenSong we’re fully kitted out.

That brings me nicely into what I actually do, well I work for a bank as a day job, but my main focus is multimedia, things like video, audio, podcasting and web & graphics design, I’m working on  starting a company fairly soon so watch this space.

I’d like to officially class myself as a geek, I’m a huge Doctor Who and Star Trek fan, so watch out for the odd reference or pun! Thanks for checking out the BUMP, I really hope you find it useful.

After being a PC user i finally got fed up of all the viruses and crashes. I first got into Apple computers in April 2006 at the San Francisco Apple store

Only being 15 I vowed to save up my pocket money for a whole year to afford the cheapest Apple notebook, at the time,  the iBook. A month before I finished saving Apple released the new MacBook, so I bought that instead, and I’ve never looked back.

I use my laptop everyday for simple things like browsing the internet to making a movie. I just find the freeware and shareware apps that are available totally amazing.

I used mac computers in school once back in the days of OS9, but due to the server speeds they were awful.

After visiting the Apple Store i felt it was too good to be true, I manged to convert my family too,  and we now have a beautiful new iMac as our family computer!

Panelists / Bloggers

Zak & Mani joined the BUMP team in December 2007, after working with Stu on some audio and video projects for their school.

They’ve been Mac users all their lives, mainly because their dad is a graphics designer and has always used the Mac platform. They have a Core2Duo iMac at home ‘not the new one, the white one’ as Zak would so fondly say.

We’ve decided to grant them some blogger rights, because they come up with great links and can usually spot a story a good few miles off!
